Two Can’t-Miss Events for B2G Marketers

As the government busy season winds to a close at the end of September, business-to- government marketers (B2G) can turn their attention to planning for the next fiscal year and to their own professional development. Two events this fall should help drive both these goals.

Up first is the 11th Annual Federal Media & Market Study breakfast hosted by Market Connections. For over a decade, this comprehensive study has helped marketers develop the right strategies to reach federal decision makers by providing key data about their purchasing and media habits – including their consumption of digital, social, mobile, print, and broadcast media. New this year, the 2019 study will include more behavioral data and opinions on a range of issues affecting the federal workforce. The REQ team has been following this event for years. Read our interview with Market Connections President Aaron Heffron on the 10th anniversary of this study.

This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Center for Education at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. You can register here.

Next, Government Marketing University will be hosting its annual GAIN conference on November 12, 2019 at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, VA.

GAIN in the only government marketing conference (that I’m aware of) for B2G marketing specialists. The theme of this year’s conference is “The Customer’s Journey” and attendees will learn how to map their customer’s end-to-end journey, determine the critical touchpoints, and ensure that those interactions are positive.

Attendees will also learn how to:

  • Map their marketing tactics to the federal government’s fiscal year
  • Leverage social selling tactics to impact the procurement process
  • Justify their marketing budget
  • Ensure that their marketing activities are aligned with the desired citizen experience

Lastly, the winners of the 2019 Government Marketing GAINER Awards will be announced during the event. The GAINER Awards celebrate the best in government marketing across the U.S. public sector (fingers crossed for our REQ clients).

If you’re interested in learning more about what Government Marketing University’s GAIN conference is like, here’s a blog post that highlights our key takeaways from last year’s event. Registration for this year’s event can be found here.

As a sponsor of the GAIN conference, we’re delighted to pass along a 10 percent discount if you use our promotional code: REQ10
