SAN DIEGO, October 30, 2014 – Brent Gleeson, co-founder and CMO at Internet Marketing Inc., a full service digital marketing agency headquartered in San Diego, was honored with the leadership award at the 2014 SDX Brand Diego Awards on Thursday October 23, 2014.
Held at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, the San Diego Ad Club (SDX) gala brought together the best of the best in the industry to recognize San Diego’s premier media, marketing and communication organizations, and to celebrate the advertising community nominees and award winners.
The leadership award is designed to recognize an individual that demonstrates a vision, excellence and initiative within their industry. SDX was looking for someone that contributes value to the lives of others and someone that assists others in achieving professional goals and leadership potential.
“Awards are a funny thing,” said Gleeson. “In the military they give you medals you never feel like you deserve, simply because others have given so much more. Developing as a leader has always been something that has been important to me, and winning an award for leadership is quite an honor.
“Leadership takes constant development, consistent feedback, self-reflection, and application of lessons learned. This award validates some of those efforts, but mostly it drives me to become an even better leader.”
As a decorated Navy SEAL combat veteran, Gleeson has a unique perspective on leadership from lessons learned on the battlefield, which he has applied to leading the Internet Marketing Inc. (IMI) team with business partner Brandon Fishman. His progressive and consistent leadership abilities have played a key role in the growth of IMI, which has been recognized by both the San Diego Business Journal and Inc. Magazine as one of the country’s fastest growing private companies for the last three years in a row.
Gleeson’s definition of excellence, written on the walls of the San Diego IMI office, states: “We believe in a diligent and consistent pursuit of perfection. That is how we define excellence. The IMI team always strives to give 100% the first time, every time. That is our bare minimum.”
