The 13th annual Web Marketing Association award winners for the Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) were announced today. The IAC awards are the first and only industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising.
The Web Marketing Association honors excellence in online advertising and wants to recognize the individuals and organizations responsible for the best in Internet marketing. The winners are selected by judging entries using this criteria – creativity, innovation, impact, design, copywriting, use of medium and memorability.
This year, IMI was honored with the “Outstanding Interactive Application” award based on the 9-question multiple choice online quiz for our client Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. The interactive quiz asks the question “Which Running Destination Fits Your Personality?, walking the user through a visual journey, choosing the destination and corresponding race that best fits with their personality.
Partnering with the World’s largest running series, Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, with more than 500,000 runners taking part in 28 destination events around the world, we were able to customize a social media and content marketing strategy and campaign that would successfully meet their goals of increasing brand awareness and race registrations through a boost in website traffic. The quiz was heavily promoted through Facebook and Twitter ads and posts and was introduced to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series database through email marketing. The results were fantastic. The quiz was taken 34,434 times from December 17, 2014 – January 16, 2015 and ranked 3rd on Google for “Running Destination.”
Brands need to be using content marketing to engage their audience and build trusting relationships. Great custom content shows a brand’s audience and potential customers that they are experts in their field and care about educating and entertaining them.
